VIP Protective Services

Every year, New Brunswick hosts a number of visits from both domestic and international dignitaries.  On these occasions, J Division’s VIP Protective Services Unit provides high-level protection for the visiting party. 

The RCMP is mandated to provide protection to the Prime Minister, the Governor General, designated Ministers of the Crown, Supreme and Federal Court Judges, Her Majesty the Queen and other members of the Canadian Royal Family, visiting Heads of State, and all other Internationally Protected Persons (IPPs). This is accomplished through a combination of plainclothes and uniformed enforcement strategies.
