| RCMP release facial reconstruction of man found 24 years ago, Fredericton, N.B. On May 5, 1980, the body of a man was discovered in the Gulf of St. Lawrence off the coast of northeastern New Brunswick. The man was buried in a cemetery in Le Goulet, NB under the name "Joseph". His remains were exhumed in November 2003 by investigators in hopes of positively identifying him. Samples were taken for DNA and the RCMP was successful in obtaining a full DNA profile. The man's skull has been used by RCMP Forensic Artist Sgt. Michel Fournier to create a facial reconstruction. The man was approximately 5 foot 5 inches tall, with a slim build, and thinning brown hair. He had hazel coloured eyes, and was between 30 and 50 years of age. He had two missing teeth which had been replaced with gold and porcelain implants. Police believe the dental work was done in North America. The police are hopeful the reconstruction will help identify the victim. This is the third time a facial reconstruction has been used by the team of investigators consisting of Sgt. Fournier, Cst. Gilles Blinn and UNB anthropology professor Moira McLaughlin. The previous two attempts were both successful in identifying the human remains. Cst. Le 5 mai 1980, on a découvert le corps d'un homme dans le Golfe du Saint-Laurent, au large du nord-est du Nouveau-Brunswick. On a enterré l'homme dans un cimetière de Le Goulet (Nouveau-Brunswick) sous le nom de « Joseph ». Les enquêteurs ont exhumé le corps en novembre 2003 dans l'espoir de pouvoir l'identifier. On a effectué des prélèvements d'ADN et la GRC a réussi à obtenir un profil d'ADN complet. Le serg. Michel Fournier, un artiste judiciaire, a utilisé le crâne de l'homme pour effectuer une reconstitution de son visage. L'homme mesurait environ 5 pi 5 po. Il était mince et avait les cheveux clairsemés bruns. Il avait les yeux de couleur noisette, et était âgé entre 30 et 50 ans. Il lui manquait deux dents qui avaient été remplacées par des implants en or et en porcelaine La police croit que les soins dentaires ont été prodigués en Amérique du Nord. La police espère que la reconstitution aidera à identifier la victime. Cette reconstitution est la troisième effectuée par l'équipe d'enquêteurs composée du serg. Fournier, du gend. Gilles Blinn et de Moira McLaughlin, professeure d'anthropologie à l'Université du Nouveau-Brunswick. Les deux reconstitutions précédentes ont permis une identification des corps. Gend.
