RCMP Announces Funeral Details for Sgt. Mark Gallagher, Woodstock, N.B.

It is with profound sadness that the RCMP will join the family and close friends to say farewell to our friend and colleague, Sergeant (Sgt.) Mark Gallagher.

Mark was killed in the earthquake that struck Haiti on Tuesday, January 12th. Mark was part of the Canadian contingent of police officers serving under the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti. His duties in Haiti included working on Project
Coordination.

The funeral arrangements have been confirmed as follows:

Date: Thursday, January, 28th 2010
Time: 2 p.m.
Location: St. Gertrude’s Roman Catholic Church, 105 Union Street,Woodstock, N.B.


At the request of the family, the funeral will be open to the media so the public can share in the tribute to Mark and the celebration of his life.

Details are still being finalized regarding overflow locations for the funeral. More details to be released on Tuesday.

Following the funeral an open reception will be held in the gymnasium of Woodstock High School located at 144 Connell Park Road, directly beside the Civic Centre.

An online condolence book will remain available until sunset on the day of the funeral. Those condolences will be shared with the Gallagher Family.
