2010/1/6
Each January, Crime Stoppers programs around the world celebrate Crime Stoppers Month to highlight their successes and promote one of the largest crime fighting programs in the world.
Our program celebrated its 24th anniversary in October 2009. As President of N.B. Crime Stoppers Inc., I wish to thank the many volunteers, organizations, sponsors, businesses, media and law enforcement agencies that have contributed to our success. Without you, crime would continue to escalate in our communities. It is my distinct honour to express my gratitude to everyone who has made N.B. Crime Stoppers Inc. what it is today.
Does the program work? It certainly does. Since its inception in 1985, N.B. Crime Stoppers Inc. has helped solve 7154 cases, 7985 people have been arrested, over 7.2 million dollars in stolen property has been recovered and an estimated street value of $50 million dollars worth of drugs has been seized because of tips received at the Crime Stoppers office.
If you have information on any unsolved crime and wish to remain anonymous and qualify for a cash award, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, that’s 1-800-222-8477 or visit our website at www.nb.crimestoppers.ca. Remember, we want your information, not your name. Make your communities safer places in which to live and grow.
As a reminder, during the months of January and February 2010, Fenety Marketing Services of Moncton N.B. will be conducting a telephone appeal throughout N.B. in order to raise funds for the continued success and effectiveness of this crime fighting program.
N.B. Crime Stoppers Inc. wishes to inform everyone that the 2010 theme will be “Helping to Stop, Solve and Prevent Crime Together”.
