Man faces charges in connection with an assault and a marijuana grow, near Colpitts Settlement, N.B.

The Caledonia RCMP is investigating an assault which occurred at a residence on Sanitorium Road near Colpitts Settlement, N.B. late Sunday night, February 7, 2010.

A person was assaulted and was taken to the hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries. A 42-year old man from Colpitts Settlement was arrested. He appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Monday to face a charge of aggravated assault and was remanded into custody.

On Monday, February 8, officers executed a search warrant in that same residence and seized several marijuana plants and growing equipment. The 42-year old man will also be facing a charge of production of marijuana

He is scheduled to return to Moncton Provincial Court on February 11, 2010 for a bail hearing.
