On February 2nd, 2010 District 10 RCMP assisted by officers from RCMP Customs and Excise, Drug Section, Integrated Border Enforcement Team (IBET) and a police dog executed a residential search warrant on Principale Street in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska.
Officers seized over 1 pound of marihuana, 6400 contraband tobacco cigarettes, 6 unregistered firearms and a quantity of cash.
A 39 year old man from Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska was arrested and later released and is scheduled to appear in Edmundston Provincial Court on May 5th, 2010 at 9:30 am to face several charges including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of contraband tobacco and unsafe storage of firearms.
