Newborn baby boy death remains unsolved, Salisbury, N.B.

2009/4/20

The RCMP are continuing to ask the public for information regarding the discovery of the body of a newborn baby boy on the Taylor Road near Salisbury, N.B. on April 4, 2009.

While police have received a number of tips, none have led to the identity of the baby.

RCMP Districts 11, 3, 4, and 5 along with the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate. A funeral for the baby boy is still pending. The RCMP is still imploring anyone with any information to come forward so that the baby can have a proper funeral with his family.

It is unknown when the baby was born or when the body was placed on the side of the road. Given the snow in the area at the time of the discovery, the baby could have been born and placed there anytime between October 2008 and March 2009. It is unknown if the baby’s mother is from New Brunswick or from outside the province.

Anyone with any information can contact Caledonia District 11 RCMP at 506-387-2222, their local police or N.B. Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
