Man charged after break enter and theft, Sussex, N.B.

District 3 RCMP arrested a man and a woman after a complaint of a break enter and theft at a home in Sussex, N.B.

District 3 RCMP responded to a complaint around 6:45 p.m. on June 5, 2012 at a home in Sussex. A quantity of frozen food and clothing had been taken from the residence.

Approximately 45 minutes later, RCMP from Hampton and Sussex stopped a taxi on Highway 1 near Norton, N.B. and arrested the two passengers.

Thirty-two-year-old Jason McPhee of Sussex was arrested and charged with possession of goods obtained by crime.  He was also wanted for offences that occurred in 2010 including assault with a weapon and uttering death threats.  He appeared in Sussex Provincial Court and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on June 7, 2012.

A 26-year-old woman from Sussex was also arrested.  She has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The stolen property was recovered.
