SUMMER STUDENTS AT DISTRICT 2

Students from the New Brunswick Community College studying criminal justice were kept active and involved with the RCMP and communities of District 2. Members worked to enhance the skills of the students through a variety of methods including facilitating events and mentoring.

SOFTBALL MAKES A COMEBACK IN THE GREATER GEARY AREA

“Through the efforts of the newly established Greater Geary Recreation Council (GGRC) Inc., its volunteers and coaches, community volunteers, and the funding support of the RCMP Foundation, organized softball is returning to the area after many years of absence”, stated Trevor Hanson, Chair of the Greater Geary Association Inc. There are over 80 youth registered for softball taking place at the newly upgraded Waterville Ballfield which officially opened July 13th.

The Greater Geary Association received a $5000 grant from the RCMP Foundation to support the development of a youth-centred recreation program. Hanson adds, “The RCMP Foundation funds were the catalyst for this effort”.
