- The test takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and is written prior to the RPAT.
Part 2: The RCMP Police Aptitude Test (RPAT):
- Consists of multiple choice questions designed to evaluate an applicant's aptitude.
- It measures six skills that are essential to completing the duties of a police officer:
- Composition (spelling, grammar, and vocabulary)
How do I know if my degree or diploma is from a "recognized" post-secondary institution?
A "recognized post-secondary institution" is a public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.
To determine if an institution is registered and recognized, visit the Ministry of Education website for the province in question to obtain a list of registered institutes.
If your education was obtained outside Canada, you must get an equivalency assessment. Contact the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials to find out which organizations across Canada perform these assessments. You can find out more by visiting CICIC's website.
Are there any other college level education exemptions?
