Two arrested for Drug Trafficking, Firearm and Weapon Offences

March 4, 2024, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island - PEI RCMP Provincial General Investigation Section arrested a 38-year-old Monticello man and a 61-year-old Harrington man following a search warrant this weekend.

On March 1st, 2024, PEI RCMP Provincial General Investigation executed a search warrant in Harrington. RCMP seized approximately 60 grams of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine pills, hydromorphone pills, contraband cigarettes, currency, edged weapons, a prohibited conducted energy weapon, brass knuckles, three firearms, one replica firearm, and a currency counter. A 38-year-old Monticello man and a 61-year-old Harrington man were both arrested at the location and later released.

RCMP do not name accused until such time as charges are laid. Charges are usually laid after the investigation is complete, which could involve having suspected drugs analysed at a laboratory.

This investigation was assisted by the Queens District RCMP, PEI RCMP Police Dog Services, and PEI RCMP Provincial Priority Unit.
