On March 14 2023, at 10:50 pm Sanikiluaq RCMP responded to a structure fire at the Old Health Center, which was being used for the Medical Travelling team on the upper level, as well as Probation and Mental Health on the lower floor.
The fire was extinguished by the local fire department and no injuries were reported. There was no damage to any other buildings. The Old Health Center structure is a total loss. It has been determined that the fire is not suspicious in nature.
