On September 1, 2023, Pangnirtung RCMP executed a search warrant which resulted in the seizure of 100 grams of methamphetamine, a sawed off shotgun, and an amount of money.
Ken Papatsie (32) has been charged with 8 offences, of which include robbery, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, assault police officer x 2, utter threats x 2 and mischief. Papatsie has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 26, 2023.
Poasie Anilniliak (37) and Archie Ishulutaq (38) have each been charged with 10 offences, of which include robbery, fail to comply x 3, possess prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order, careless storage of firearm, unauthorized possession of firearm, possess a loaded firearm, possession of weapon obtained by crime, and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose. Anilniliak has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 6, 2023.
