Nunavut RCMP warns residents of dangerous crack cocaine being distributed

Nunavut RCMP have information that the Iqaluit hospital has received patients that have been presenting with seizures as a result of a very potent crack cocaine that is being distributed in the community. The "crack" has been described as having a brownish hue and is being referred to as "black rock".

Seizures can cause long term health affects and must be treated as an emergency. If you witness one, call 867-979-4422 immediately.

The Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act protects you and the person experiencing the overdose from simple drug possession charges when calling for emergency help during an overdose. If you are with someone when they are experiencing an overdose stay and help. You can help save a life.

Getting dangerous illicit drugs off the street continues to be a top priority for the Nunavut RCMP.
