On July 16, 2023 at 10:05 pm, the Iqaluit RCMP responded to a call of a stabbing. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance, he is in stable condition. Francois Jeffrey (35) was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:
- Sec. 268(2) Aggravated Assault;
- Sec. 145(5)(a) Fail to comply with release order x3;
- Sec. 733.1(1) Fail to comply with a probation order x2.
Jeffrey's next court appearance will be on August 15, 2023.
