RCMP Arviat Liquor Seizure

On July 11, 2022, the Arviat RCMP received information that two individuals were travelling to Arviat from Winnipeg, Manitoba with liquor.

As per the Nunavut Liquor Act, the Arviat RCMP intercepted the shipment at the Arviat airport and seized the following:

- (4) four 1.75 litre bottles of rum;
- (1) one 1.14 litre bottle of vodka;
- (3) three 4 litre boxes of wine;
- (17) seventeen 355 ml cans of beer;
- (3) three shooters.

The RCMP in Arviat have seen an increase of liquor being transported into the community and would like to remind everyone that Arviat is a dry community and the possession of liquor is prohibited.
