RCMP asking for public’s help following suspicious fire

The Chaleur Region RCMP is asking for the public's help following a suspicious fire in Allardville, N.B.

On August 3, 2021, shortly before 11 p.m., Allardville Fire Department responded to a report of an unoccupied structure fire on Route 134. The building and its contents were completely destroyed by the fire.

Members of the Chaleur Region RCMP were notified of the fire on August 7. Through the investigation, police learned an individual was seen walking in the area a few minutes before the fire started.

Police are asking residents of the area who have outdoor surveillance cameras or trail cameras to check their recordings for any suspicious activity between 10 and 11 p.m., on August 3. Police are also asking anyone who was driving through the area during those hours and has dash-cam footage to call the Chaleur Region RCMP.

Anyone with information about this fire or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area during the evening hours of August 3, is asked to contact the Chaleur region RCMP at 506-548-7771. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
The investigation is ongoing.
