Whitbourne RCMP investigates fatal motor vehicle collision on TCH near Whitbourne

A 54-year-old man of Shearstown is deceased following a single-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway, just east of Whitbourne.

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. on March 19, 2020, Whitbourne RCMP received a report of the collision. Police, fire and ambulance attended the scene. The vehicle crossed over the center line and came to rest in the ditch on the opposite side of the road. The driver, who was the sole occupant, was trapped in the vehicle. He was removed by firefighters and transported by ambulance to the Dr. Wm H Newhook Community Health Centre in Whitbourne, where he was pronounced deceased.

A Collision Analyst with RCMP Traffic Services attended the scene and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been engaged. The investigation is continuing.
