Chestermere RCMP arrested the suspect without incident or injury. The neighborhood of West Lakeview is now open; however, RCMP remain on scene and the investigation is on going.

Chestermere RCMP on scene at an incident West Lakeview
Chestermere RCMP responded to a residence at 6:45 a.m. in West Lakeview after receiving reports of gunfire. A male had fired shots within his house and has barricaded himself inside. He is believed to be alone. No injuries have been reported.
This is an ongoing event. RCMP advise the public to avoid the area and to avoid posting updates of the RCMP presence on social media.
