A 63-year-old man from Twillingate was arrested for impaired driving on January 13, 2020, after leaving the scene of a single-vehicle collision.
At approximately 6:00 p.m., Twillingate RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Rink Road involving a suspected impaired driver who had left the scene.
Police located the driver, a 63-year-old man from Twillingate, outside his residence and observed signs of impairment. He was arrested for impaired driving and brought back to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were nearly two and a half times the legal limit.
The man's licence was suspended and his vehicle impounded. He was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
