Shamattawa RCMP investigate house fire

On January 21, 2020, at approximately 11:15 pm, RCMP responded to a house fire on Bear Avenue, in Shamattawa First Nation.

Officers arrived on scene to a house fully engulfed in flames. All three occupants had managed to get out of the residence. An 88-year-old female, a 44-year-old male and a 63-year-old male, were all taken to the nursing station and then to hospital, where they currently remain.

At this time, the fire does not appear to be suspicious.

The RCMP along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate.
