A 55-year-old man from Bathurst has died following a collision between two snowmobiles that occurred in Sormany, N.B., a community northwest of Bathurst.
Shortly after 4 p.m. on January 30, 2020, Bathurst RCMP responded to a call of a head-on collision between a snowmobile heading eastbound and one heading westbound on a groomed trail.
The 55-year-old man died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The male driver of the other snowmobile was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor in the crash. Both men were wearing helmets.
The investigation is ongoing.
