RCMP arrest impaired driver early Monday and remind public that laws continue to be enforced

Just after 9:00 a.m. Monday morning, March 23rd, Kings District RCMP received a call of possible impaired driver in the Three Rivers area.

Kings District officers located the vehicle within minutes of the call and the driver, a 66 year-old man from the Three Rivers area, was arrested at the scene for Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle. He was escorted to the RCMP office and provided breath samples over three times the legal limit. He will be released later today for a future court date in Georgetown.

RCMP would like to remind the public that officers are responding to calls and charges will be laid as usual. Impaired driving and other acts which put people at risk will result in officers attending and laying charges where merited. During this heightened time of social responsibilities, take extra care to follow laws and make choices that keep all of us safe. And continue to let us know if you suspect criminal activities such as impaired driving.
