On January 9, 2020, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Bay St. George RCMP were on patrol in Port au Port and observed a snowmobile operating on the main road.
The driver, a 39-year-old man from Boswarlos, showed signs of impairment. After failing a roadside breath test, he was arrested for impaired driving and brought back to the detachment where he provided breath samples over the legal limit.
The man's licence was suspended and his snowmobile was seized. He was released from custody and will appear in court at a future date to face charges of impaired driving.
