Leduc RCMP on scene of serious collision on Highway 616 - Update

On March 10, 2020, at 7:40 a.m., Leduc RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 616 near Range Road 225.

Preliminary investigation has revealed a car was heading westbound on Highway 616 when a collision occurred with an east bound truck towing a trailer.

A 24-year-old lone male occupant in the car was pronounced deceased on scene. Both occupants in the truck were not injured.

Traffic was re-routed for several hours while the investigation was conducted.

Leduc RCMP continue to investigate. The name of the deceased will not be released and no further updates are anticipated.
