Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP takes man into custody after discharging firearm outside a residence

A 33-year-old man was taken into custody by RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay following a disturbance at a residence in the town. The man allegedly discharged a firearm outside the home.

At approximately 5:00 a.m. on January 12, 2020, Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP received the report and responded to the residence. Upon arrival, officers secured the scene, ensuring public safety, and determined there were no injuries.

The suspect, Adam Blackwell, was arrested and taken into custody without incident. The investigation, carried out by Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP, along with members of the RCMP General Investigation Section, led to charges including pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, discharging a firearm and assault with a weapon.

Blackwell attended court yesterday and was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 16, 2020.
