A 57-year-old man of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is facing charges of impaired driving following a traffic stop conducted by Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP on Hamilton River Road at approximately 8:30 p.m. last night.
During the traffic stop, police suspected the driver was impaired by alcohol. The man failed a roadside breath test and was taken back to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were above the legal limit.
Police suspended his driver's licence and seized and impounded his vehicle. He was released from custody and is scheduled to attend court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving.
