Bus Driver charged in Fort Augustus collision

A 67 year-old bus driver has been issued a Summary Offence Ticket in relation to his involvement in the January 10th incident where a 6 year-old boy was struck by a vehicle shortly after he got off his bus near the Fort Augustus Community Center.

The RCMP investigation revealed that the bus did not have its flashing red lights on at the time of the collision. Thankfully the child involved did not sustain serious injury.

The bus driver was issued a ticket under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to operate the flashing red lights on the bus which carries a fine of $100. The Public School Brach continues their investigation into the incident.
