Bay St. George RCMP removes unlicenced drivers from road in Port au Port

At approximately 8:50 a.m. on January 27, 2020, Bay St. George RCMP were on patrol in Port au Port and observed a driver who was known to have a suspended licence. A traffic stop was initiated on Main Road and the 45-year-old man from Cape St. George was issued a ticket for driving while suspended and his vehicle impounded.

Around 11:20 a.m. later that morning, officers observed a driver known to be prohibited from driving. A traffic stop was initiated on Hynes Road and the 55-year-old man from Point au Mal was arrested for driving while prohibited under the Criminal Code. He was released with a future court date and his vehicle was impounded.
