Whiteout conditions result in series of collisions

February 26, 2019
Cocagne, New Brunswick

News release

At least 15 vehicles were involved in a series of collisions at the Cocagne Bridge, in Cocagne, N.B., this morning as a result of blowing snow and whiteout conditions.

Police and other emergency responders were dispatched to the area shortly after 9 a.m. on February 26, 2019. Four people with various injuries were transported to hospital by ambulance.

Police worked for several hours to clear the vehicles, and the bridge remains closed due to poor visibility and road conditions.
