Whitecourt RCMP charge male with armed robberies in collaborative investigation

Whitecourt RCMP and Whitecourt General Investigation Section (GIS) have arrested and charged an adult male after an armed robbery on February 15, 2019.

Following several months of an investigation into the ATB Robbery in Whitecourt, Alta., Whitecourt GIS have arrested and charged a 32-year-old male with one count of Robbery, one count of Disguise with Intent and several breach of condition charges.

Throughout the investigation, police determined that the male was allegedly targeting and robbing several banks throughout Alberta. The RCMP, working alongside Edmonton Police Service (EPS) and Calgary Police Service (CPS) have collaborated in charging him with nine robberies and a total of 17 Criminal Code Charges.

The male remains in custody, and his next court appearance is scheduled for October 25, 2019.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
