Update: Pictou District RCMP responds to shots fired complaint

Three men have been arrested in relation to a complaint of shots fired on East River East Side Rd. on January 3. No one was injured when three men drove past a home and fired shots at it. Three people were inside the home at the time.

On January 3, police arrested one man in connection with this incident. RCMP continued to investigate and on January 7, two more men were arrested when they turned themselves in to police at Stellarton RCMP Detachment. All three men were released from custody following their arrests. They have been placed on conditions to have no contact with the victims and are scheduled to attend Pictou Provincial Court on April 1. A 25-year-old man from Central West River, a 26-year-old man from New Glasgow, and a 31-year-old man from Thorburn are facing charges of:

  • Attempted Murder
  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Breach of Probation

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Pictou District General Investigation Section.
