Tulita man charged with child pornography offences

A 24-year-old man from Tulita has been charged with child pornography offences.

On September 16, 2019, Fort Simpson RCMP, with the assistance of Tulita RCMP and the NT RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), arrested and charged the man.

A search warrant was executed at the residence of the suspect and electronic devices were seized.

The 24-year-old man is charged with:

  • Sexual Interference Sec 151 cc
  • Possession of Child Pornography Sec 163.1(4) cc
  • Making Child Pornography Sec 163.1(2) cc

Due to the size of the community and the nature of the charges, RCMP will not be releasing the name of the suspect to protect the identity of the victim. RCMP do not believe there is any safety risk for the community at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing.
