Theft of $30,000 of tools in Pictou County

On May 13, Pictou District RCMP responded to a report of a theft of tools from a utility trailer that had been parked at a cottage lot on MacKenzie Rd. in Black Point, which is about 14 km East of Pictou Landing. The trailer was last seen around noon on Sunday May 12, and the theft was discovered the following morning around 9 a.m. The locks on the trailer had been cut, and nearly all the tools were gone. Various carpentry tools nearly all of which were 'Dewalt' brand were stolen, including Dewalt-brand table, reciprocating and skil saws, a number of 18, 20 and 60-volt Dewalt batteries, a 4000 and 7500-watt generator, extension cords, aluminum work benches, step ladders, and other smaller hand tools and items. The value of the stolen tools is nearly $30,000.
