Suspicious package safely removed

A suspicious package that was found at the Richibucto RCMP detachment has been removed safely.

On August 6, 2019, at 8 a.m., a suspicious package was discovered at the Richibucto detachment. The building was evacuated and the surrounding area was blocked off as a precaution. There was no risk to public safety and no one was injured.

Members from the Richibucto detachment were able to continue answering calls from the public during this time.

The New Brunswick RCMP's Explosives Disposal Unit was called to attend. The package was removed from the premises and safely disposed of. It was determined there was no risk from the package.

The investigation is continuing.
