The RCMP's Southeast Traffic Services in Chester charged a driver for stunting on August 4. Traffic members were out conducting regular patrols ion Hwy. 210 Greenfield, Queens County at 1:30 p.m. when one police officer noted a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The RADAR was activated and the driver's speed was noted to be 141 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone, 91 km/hr over the posted speed limit. The police officer stopped the vehicle, and charged the 35-year-old female driver for stunting. The vehicle was seized and towed, and the driver's licence was suspended for seven days.
The fine for stunting in Nova Scotia is $2,422.50. Nova Scotia RCMP want to remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads. Road Safety is a priority for the RCMP, and drivers are reminded to make it their priority as well.
