St. Albert RCMP - Search warrant results in charges

On Dec. 4, 2019, the St. Albert RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), with the assistance of the St. Albert RCMP Drug Unit, and St. Albert RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS), executed a Search Warrant for stolen property on an apartment located in Sturgeon Point Villa's. The Search Warrant was in relation to numerous investigations associated to several recent incidents of thefts from lockers at local gyms, thefts from motor vehicles, theft of motor vehicles and fraudulent use of credit cards.

The Search Warrant recovered multiple pieces of stolen identification located inside the apartment along with small amounts of methamphetamine and Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB).

As a result of the investigation three people have been charged.

A 20-year-old male of St. Albert has been charged with:

  • fraud
  • theft
  • theft of a motor vehicle
  • mischief
  • possession of stolen property
  • theft of mail
  • breach of probation
  • breach of recognizance
  • possession of a controlled substance
  • He has been remanded into custody.

A 32-year-old female of St. Albert has been charged with:

  • possession of stolen property
  • possession of a controlled substance

She is scheduled to appear in St. Albert provincial court on January 20, 2020.

A 23-year-old male is wanted for:

  • fraud
  • theft
  • mischief
  • failure to comply with conditions of release documents

St. Albert RCMP continue to investigate property crime in the city, but Inspector Pam Robinson would like to remind the community that we all have a part to play in preventing crimes, and simple changes can reduce the risk of break and enters, thefts and frauds. Residents are encouraged to follow the #9PM Routine as many property crimes can be avoided with proper precautions.
