St. Albert RCMP - Drug search warrant results in charges

On October 18, 2019, the St. Albert RCMP Drug Unit, with the assistance of the Parkland RCMP Drug Unit, RCMP Police Dog Service and Tofield RCMP executed a Search Warrant on a rural property in Beaver County, Alta. The Search Warrant was executed in relation to a drug trafficking investigation, which utilized the assistance of the North Region Sheriff Investigative Support Unit.

The Search Warrant resulted in the following items being seized:

  • Canadian Currency
  • Over 11 ounces of Methamphetamine
  • 2.5 Litres of Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB)
  • 153 Capsules of Gabapentin
  • A single stick of Commercial Dynamite
  • Small quantity of Psilocybin
  • Two Stolen Trailers
  • One Firearm
  • A 2015 Chrysler 200 was also seized pursuant to this investigation and held as offence related property

A 39-year-old female from the Edmonton area has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (x 3)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (x 1)
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000 (x 1)
  • Possession of an Explosive (x 1)
  • Firearms Offences (x 2)
  • Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (x 1)
  • Tampering with a Vehicle Identification Number (x 2)
  • Weapons Possession Contrary to Order (x 2)

A 42-year-old male from the Edmonton area has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (x 3)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (x 1)
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000 (x 1)
  • Possession of an Explosive (x 1)
  • Firearms Offences (x 2)
  • Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (x 1)
  • Tampering with a Vehicle Identification Number (x 2)
  • Criminal Flight (x 2)
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle (x 1)
  • Assault to Prevent Arrest (x 1)
  • Operate Motor Vehicle while Disqualified (x 4)
  • Fail to Stop for Peace Officer (x 1)
  • Exceed Max Speed Limit (x 1)
  • Fail to Signal Properly (x 1)

Both individuals are scheduled to appear in St. Albert provincial court on November 4, 2019.
