RCMP’s Major Crime Unit investigating homicide

The New Brunswick RCMP's Major Crime Unit is investigating the death of a man in Moncton, N.B., as a homicide.

On March 18, 2019, at around 1:15 a.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to Echo Drive for a report of a man who was lying on the road, injured.

The victim, a 45-year-old man from Moncton, had suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

Police are continuing to search for a man who was seen fleeing the scene on foot.

An autopsy will be conducted to assist police in the investigation and to help determine the man's exact cause of death. It is believed this was an isolated incident.
