RCMP Rosthern – Fatal Fire on Beardy’s First Nation

On Septebmer 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., a house fire was reported to the Beardy's First Nation Fire Department and the Rosthern RCMP. A home on the Beardy's First Nation sustained minor damage and smoke damage throughout.

this point in the investigation, it is believed there was one occupant in the residence when the fire broke out. A 16-year-old female is the only victim of the fire, but the investigation is still ongoing. The identify of the victim of the fire will be confirmed by autopsy conducted by the Coroners Service of Saskatchewan, on September 10.

The cause of the fire and circumstances leading up to the fire are all under investigation. The investigation is being conducted by the RCMP Major Crimes Unit North, Forensic Identification Section, Rosthern Detachment, Saskatchewan Coroners Service and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency.
