RCMP La Ronge – Charges laid following the execution of a CDSA Search Warrant

On June 24, 2019, La Ronge RCMP detachment members and General Investigation Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence of Lac La Ronge First Nation.

As a result of the search, approximately 60 grams of crack cocaine, a quantity of hydro-morphine pills and a large amount of cash were found in the residence.

Seven adults and two children were located inside the residence. The children were entrusted to other family members. The adults were taken into custody and later released.

Tom Floyd Cook of Lac La Ronge First Nation has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, section 5(2).CDSA; and
  • Possession of the Proceeds of Crime under the Criminal Code of Canada, section 354.C.C.

Tom Floyd Cook will next appear in court at the La Ronge Provincial Court on June 27, 2019.
