On September 5, 2019, at approximately 11:05 pm, Oakbank and St. Pierre Jolys RCMP responded to a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on Road 207 south of Highway 1, in the RM of Springfield.
The investigation has determined that a vehicle travelling north on Highway 207, crossed the centre line and collided with a motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old male from Lorette, was pronounced deceased at scene.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, 31-year-old Jasen Chevalier of Ile Des Chenes, was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death and Impaired Operation of a Conveyance with blood alcohol concentration equal to or exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood causing death.
Oakbank RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
