A year long investigation following a fatal pedestrian collision, which occurred on July 6, 2018, has resulted in second degree murder charges being laid by the RCMP.
29-year-old Delaina Lace Cutarm was deceased after being struck by a vehicle shortly before 1:30 a.m. Maskwacis RCMP responded to investigate and after a determination that the incident was a homicide, Edmonton RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) became involved and worked in conjunction with Maskwacis. A comprehensive investigation followed over the next 12 months.
On July 4, 2019, a 27-year-old male was arrested. He has been charged with one count of second degree murder in the death of Delaina Lace Cutarm. The male has been remanded in custody, and is schedule to appear in provincial court of Alberta in Wetaskiwin on July 9, 2019.
