RCMP investigates serious collision

Just after 8 a.m. today, Halifax District RCMP responded to a multi-vehicle collision in Middle Sackville.

A vehicle travelling westbound on Sackville Dr. collided with two other vehicles near Millwood Dr. The vehicle then struck a man that was standing on the sidewalk at Sackville Dr. and Lucasville Rd. before colliding into a house in the 1200 block of Sackville Dr. Police, Fire and EHS attended the scene.

The 64-year-old man on the sidewalk was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle, an 82-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. No one else was injured.

The intersection of Sackville Dr. and Lucasville Rd. was closed for approximately one hour but has since re-opened.

The investigation is ongoing.
