RCMP investigate fatal collision

On October 7, 2019, at approximately 3:40 pm, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle collision on Highway 59 at the intersection of Oak Grove Road.

The initial investigation has determined that a pickup truck travelling west on Oak Grove Road, proceeded through the stop sign and collided with a motorcycle that was travelling north on Highway 59.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 62-year-old female from Winnipeg, was taken to hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

The driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck, a 16-year-old male from Grande Pointe, had minor injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.

RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
