RCMP Brooks investigate fatal collision - Update

Charges were laid following the investigation. Charges of dangerous operation causing death and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.

June 3, 2019

RCMP Brooks Detachment is currently on scene investigating a two vehicle collision, which resulted in one fatality.

At approximately 5 p.m. the RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 1 and Range Road 150. A pickup truck, travelling southbound on Range Road 150 collided with an SUV travelling eastbound on Highway 1.

The driver of the SUV, a 72-year-old male, was deceased at the scene. The passenger is currently being treated at a local hospital, along with the driver of the pickup.

the assistance of the RCMP Collision Analyst, the collision remains under investigation.

There is no indication at this time that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, and charges have not been laid at this time.
