RCMP attend chain-reaction collision on Hillsborough Bridge

August 16, 2019
Hillsborough Bridge, Prince Edward Island

News release

On August 15th 2019 at 5:00 p.m. during the evening commute there was a four car chain reaction collision on the Hillsborough Bridge. Two drivers were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Island EMS and Crossroads Fire Department assisted with the collision area.

During this time of the evening there is a large traffic movement over the bridge into Stratford and the Queens District RCMP thank commuting drivers for their patience during the event as traffic was very slow to clear.

This collision is a good reminder to slow down on the Hillsborough Bridge and leave room between vehicles for stopping and lane changes. Traffic volume is consistently high which means drivers need to use caution and provide yourself enough space to be able to react to a situation if it occurs.

Better to slow down and get to your destination than not to get there at all.
