Public assistance requested: firearm found in backpack

On August 30, just before 3 p.m., a man entered a restaurant on Sackville Dr. in Lower Sackville and left a short time later. He left a backpack behind, and when an employee checked inside for contact information for the owner, they found a firearm inside. They contacted the RCMP, who seized the firearm.

The matter is now being investigated by the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. Police have obtained surveillance photos of the person who left the firearm and are releasing them to the public in the event anyone can identify him.
