  • At 9:10 a.m., the RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the MacLellans Brook area. Police located the driver, a 24-year-old man from Pictou County who was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Conveyance. He provided breath samples which were twice the legal limit of 80 mg%. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on Sept 23.
  • At 4:32 p.m., the RCMP responded to a complaint of an ATV collision which occurred on the Trenton Connector in Mount William. When police arrived at the scene, they found it involved a single ATV and the operator and passenger, both from Pictou County, were being transported to the Aberdeen Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The driver, a 36-year-old man, was showing signs of impairment. He provided a blood sample and the matter remains under investigation.
  • At 7:55 p.m., RCMP members were on patrol in the town of Pictou when police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle, due to several vehicle defects. Police noted signs of impairment and arrested the 28-year-old driver from Pictou County for Impaired Operation of a Conveyance. He provided breath samples that were twice the legal limit. He was later released and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on Sept 30.
