Norway House RCMP investigating shooting of 13-year-old

On August 28, 2019, at approximately 5:05 am, Norway House RCMP received a report of a 13-year-old male youth who had been shot with a firearm on Kistapinan Drive in the community.

Officers attended the area and were advised that the victim had been transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. He was later flown to Winnipeg for further treatment.

The suspects were not initially located as they fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The investigation has identified five youths who were potentially involved in the shooting.

Three of these youths have been located and arrested. A 15-year-old male has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Discharging a Firearm with Intent, Pointing a Firearm, and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. Two females, a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old, who were arrested, were later released without charge.

The 13-year-old victim remains in hospital and is in stable condition.
